While I was praying during today’s morning PM, an analogy came into my mind.

The world can be in a turmoil around us, with lots of change but at the heart of that typhoon lies the calm of the storm that is God - He who is never-changing and He who we can always depend on.

You know how you can have good prayer days and bad prayer days? Well, today was a good prayer day when I was able to connect to the Holy Spirit and flow with Him. :) God is good.

I just started my first week of school and I have 2 more classes this week before I officially call this week over. Been praying for a breakthrough in the area of my studies and out of the 3 classes I had gone for, Ethics and Gene Cell had been interesting and I was really glad to be able to talk lots in Ethics, but as usual, accounting modules like Corporate Reporting always leave me feeling low. I want to demolish that mentality.

I’m trying to come to peace with accounting (because I have 2 more years and more advanced courses to take). C’mon love overflow overflow.

My Corporate Reporting prof included this video in his course reading. It is very easy watching for people with non-accounting backgrounds. So watch it (about 1hr plus) before it gets taken off the net. Ho hum accounting ethics.

School starts tomorrow. C’mon c’mon c’mon let’s hit the ground running.

Surprisingly, I liked it not just because it made me cry. Perhaps it was because there were parts that I could identify with, but less exaggerated. Guess I shouldn’t always use Life!’s movie reviews as the de rigueur for movies.

Oh. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE! I’ve been away but you will always be home (Awwww).

(Pssst. After watching the Olympics opening ceremony, I think the NDP will pale in comparison. But NDP is NDP so I will still sit through it. hhaa. Rather have the gahmen scrimp on taxpayers’ $$.)

Irrelevant: My mum is cooking CRAB today! Yums! Oh and I think I’m getting auntie-ish. I saw Unagi at 3 packets of whole fish for 8.88 (on 08.08.08 wahahah) and I was like WHAT A BARGAIN so I made my mum buy it. UNAGI leh! My mum was like, what kind of fish is this. -.- I saw one fish for 14+ at the imports section of this Japanese restaurant in JP lor (since when did they have Little Japan there!!!) . Lunch is settled for next week! Hohoho

On the cab back home from FOP (where praise and worship towards the end was totally awesome), my sister’s bf was talking about Journey and their new front man. That was interesting enough for my sister to youtube them (or maybe she does that to most things Luke mentions) and life stories such as Arnel Pineda’s - hes Filipino and Journey is an ancient American rock band - really catch my attention (oh and Steve Perry’s life story is rollarcoasterishly interesting also).

So my verdict: AP rocks (I mean his voice is like swooningly fantastic. Can you believe that guy is 40?!), but I like SP’s gay (Oooo check out that butt less high waist pants man! Totally totally 80s [like duh]), and clearer voice (you know without that AP huskiness). PLUS it was entertaining watching his sissy slick moves on the few live videos on youtube (What’s up with that ending move!? But his hair is so nice! It must be crime for guys to have such smooth thick hair. hahaa).

AP:

SP:

Just a small town girl
Living in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train going anywhere

A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

{Refrain}
Strangers, waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night (I love this part. The SP cocks his head and high pitches off the ceiling part. haha)

Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Paying anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

{Refrain}

Don’t stop believing
Hold on to that feeling

Streetlight people

Btw, streetlight people are “prostitutes and other seedy characters on Sunset Strip in Hollywood.”

Good thing my blog is off google search or, juggling from youtube video comments, I will get bashed by AP/SP supporters for comparing them. hahaaa.
